From qualification and training to recognized conformance certificates and labeling. The tools you need to take your rating and inspection business to the WaterSense level.

Any independent inspection company and their inspectors are eligible to participate, but all inspection companies and their inspectors must apply, agree to the program’s fees, terms and conditions, code of ethics, complete approved training and onboarding, and be accepted.

Process:

  • Complete required inspector training, pass exams, and apprenticeship (if required).
  • Create account in the program’s data portal, upload credentials and insurance certificates.
  • Your application is checked for completeness. If more is needed, we will contact you.
  • We will analyze your application, credentials, insurance, and training records.
  • If your application is approved, and your registration is complete, you are ready to go!

Get an EPA WaterSense labeled home for water-efficiency and helping save water.

WaterSense labeled homes are third-party certified to meet EPA’s WaterSense for homes efficiency and performance criteria by an EPA approved Home Certification Organization (HCO). HCO WaterSense programs include at least:

  • training, credentialling, and approving of home verifiers, and
  • a system for validating a property’s WaterSense conformance.

The Green Builder Coalition (GBC) is an approved EPA WaterSense HCO.

Process:

  • Builders interested in building homes to the WaterSense specification and getting the WaterSense label must become EPA WaterSense partners.
  • After becoming an EPA WaterSense partner, Builders contract directly with an approved verifier to have their property validated as meeting WaterSense requirements.
  • Verifiers present their findings to the GBC’s Program’s quality control and review.
  • If verifier’s findings are accepted, GBC issues a WaterSense certificate of conformity, and the builder may label the conforming property.
