The Certified Ratings Program, sponsored by the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA), provides certified energy ratings certificates for new single-family homes, energy rating certificates for homes that are already built, and certified Florida Water StarSM and Water Efficiency Rating Score (WERS) rating certificates for buildings.
Single-family home builders can directly support their industry when they order independent energy ratings based on Florida’s Energy Code or above Code. Whether it’s certified code calculations, a certified blower door test, an Energy Rating Index (ERI) rating or a standalone validated energy inspection, they can handle it all.
WERS is a performance-based water efficiency program for both new and existing residential properties. This approach to water efficiency preserves design freedom and product choice flexibility. Third-party analysis and data collection is utilized to generate both a score and predict water usage for single-family and multifamily properties.
WaterSense labeled homes meet consumers’ demand for a whole-house solution to help them save water, energy, and money while maintaining a high level of performance.
The Florida Water Districts are pleased to announce a quick and efficient way to obtain Intertek certified Water Star℠ ratings. By using your existing inspectors*, the Water Star℠ Program Administrator or the FHBA Certified Ratings Program can provide you with Intertek certified Water Star℠ certificates. Intertek can issue Water Star℠ certificates using existing Water Star℠ procedures, however, they are now administered by Triconic.
*The Program accepts current Water Star℠ inspection agencies in good standing. Please note that “certifiers” approved by SJRWMD will now be referred to as “inspectors.” The Program also accepts inspection agencies accredited to the criteria within ISO/IEC 17020:2012, Requirements for the Operation of Various Types of Bodies Performing Inspection for the proper scope or that are IAS Accredited Inspection Agencies for the proper scope.
The Certified Ratings Program expanded offerings to more certificates that allow smaller steps for builders and inspectors to incrementally complete. The goal is to make energy code compliance easy for the builder, inspector and the building department. Click the button below to learn more on the Certified Ratings Program website.
The Certified Ratings Program provides an Energy Rating Index (ERI) which provides energy usage estimates for homes. For example, this allows home buyers to compare similar homes they are interested in. Click the button below to learn more on the Certified Ratings Program website.
